The Sacral Chakra, Swadhisthana, also known as the Seat of the (emotional) Self, is located about 3 fingers above the external genitals. It is said to govern our sexual energy, our emotions and fantasy. The commonly related element is water. Svadhisthana in this sense gives great importance to social interactions, appearance and reputation. Imbalanced energy on this level can therefore bring depression, confusion, anxiety, or envy. Sensual dance or connecting with water through swimming, steam sauna etc. can soothe these tendencies.
